This space is to recognize the current community I have supporting my athletic journey. My foundation is strategically comprised of people who believe in my process and who I choose to surround myself with. The Olympic Dream to compete in the 800m requires two minutes of racing. There are years of training and process that are imperative to the success of those two minutes. That success I owe to my support team that has kindly helped and contributed throughout the day-to-day and long-term journey.
My first mention goes out to my family. Although athletics is not the sport I grew up with, I appreciate you’re warm embrace to my new sport and joined me in the steep learning curve with your relentless support. Your love and “good luck!” texts are always appreciated, and I love coming home to share my successes with you.
Second, a big thank-you to Sask Athletics, Sask Sport, and Canadian Sport Centre Saskatchewan for your continued facility, medical, and financial support as I embark on the final year of preparation for achieving my 2020 Tokyo Olympic Goals. Your consistent and continued support is greatly appreciated and does not go unnoticed!
Additionally, a thank-you to Fast and Female and CAAWS programming for offering me a volunteer position to actively give back to the grassroots community. The opportunity to share and inspire local youth to achieve their goals is beyond rewarding, and are days I always look forward to hosting.
Finally, my coach Al. Thank-you for continuing to be a part of my journey to make me a both a better athlete, and a better human. Your time and efforts do not go unnoticed.
